Gwallon McFarland
Custodian, 2nd Shift

Gwallon comes to Jackson State from A Mothers Touch Childcare. Over the years she was there, she served as a cook, teacher, and as the Director. She has also worked at A1 Janitorial where she cleaned the floors, dusted, and prepared areas for special events. Gwallon graduated from Treadwell High School in Memphis.

Monique Merriweather
Director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center

Monique comes to Jackson State from Mercer Brothers Funeral Home where she was the Marketing Coordinator. Monique has also been an Academic Dean at the West Tennessee Business College and the Director of Neighborhood Services for the City of Jackson. While she was the Director of Neighborhood Services she served on the Jackson Chamber of Commerce Leadership University and Leadership Jackson boards, managed federal grants, and directed fundraising activities. Monique has a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management and an MBA from Bethel University.

Kevin King
Instructor for EMT/Paramedic

Kevin comes to Jackson State from the West Tennessee Healthcare/Medical Center EMS. While there, Kevin served as an EMT, Paramedic, and six years in a supervisory role as a Shift Manager. He has also been serving as an EMT/Paramedic Adjunct Instructor for Jackson State since 2009. Kevin has an Associates Degree from Jackson State and completed our EMT/Paramedic Certificate program.

Adrian Montague
Admissions Officer / Recruiter

Adrian comes to Jackson State from Steve Marsh Ford where he was a sales consultant. He has also served in the United States Army as an Acquisition Officer and Field Artillery Officer. Adrian has a Bachelor of Arts in History and an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
