Stephanie Zeto
Assistant Professor of Nursing

Stephanie comes to Jackson State from West TN Healthcare where she was a registered nurse for five years. She was a Patient Care Tech at West TN Healthcare before she became a RN. Stephanie has also worked at Jackson State as a Clinical Nurse Lab Assistant. Stephanie has a Master of Science in Nursing from Capella University and an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Jackson State.

Vanessa Garibay
Assistant Professor of Nursing

Vanessa comes to Jackson State from UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. While at UC Davis Medical Center, Vanessa was a Clinical Nurse II with Acute Care Pediatrics and a Quality and Safety Champion with the Children’s hospital. She has also worked at Mattel Children’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California. Vanessa has a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a French Studies Minor and a Master of Science in Nursing.

Jialing Li
Assistant Professor of Math

Jialing comes to Jackson State from Syracuse University where she was a Teaching Assistant. While teaching at Syracuse, Jialing focused on Probability and Statistics courses. She also has interned at the Air Force Lab in Rome, NY. Jialing has a Master’s in Mathematics from Syracuse University in New York, and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Capital Normal University in Beijing.

Karen Perrin
Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

Karen comes to Jackson State from Dyersburg State Community College and Chattanooga State Community College where she was an adjunct instructor in Criminal Justice. Over the course of her career, she has also been a Victims Assistance Coordinator, a Probation Officer, and was a member of the United States Navy. Karen has a Bachelor and Master degree in Criminal Justice from South University in Savannah, Georgia.

Shannon Mayo
Coordinator of the Paris and Dresden Locations

Shannon Mayo comes to Jackson State from Northwest Mississippi Community College where she was the Employer Partnership Coordinator. In that position she supervised the internship programs, participated on community boards, and oversaw the curriculum for 30 + career and technical education programs across five campuses. Shannon has also worked at Bethel as a Testing Center Coordinator, Adjunct Instructor, and Academic Progress Advisor. Shannon has a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Master of Education in Counseling with a Clinical Mental Health Concentration, both from The University of Tennessee at Martin.
