A URL is a Uniform Resource Locator. That's another way of saying a web address.
If you are including a url in a web page, it is best to not put the url in the text.
For for information, visit http://www.jscc.edu/financial-aid/types-of-aid/scholarships.html
Instead, use a description of that page. It is eminently more readable and has semantic value to search engines.

A long url can be problematic when used in a printed piece or when spoken. Sometimes our site has long urls. Any url on our site can be shortened. For instance:
http://www.jscc.edu/academics/divisions/allied-health/physical-therapist-assistant/
can be shortened to
http://www.jscc.edu/pta
Send an e-mail to webmaster@jscc.edu with both the existing and new url. A simple rule can be put on the server to redirect traffic.
