Service Learning Student Expectations

Maintain good attendance - If you have told an organization that you will be there at a certain time and cannot make it, call them and let them know.

Dress professional - Dress modest with no suggestive clothing

Be clean and neat - Good hygiene is vital for your health, the development of presentation, and benefit to those around you.

Consider volunteer work as a professional commitment - Remember this could one day be a career opportunity.

Be non-confrontational - Resolve issues, misunderstandings, disagreements, and concerns before they get “out of hand.”  Talk with your professor if necessary.

Make safety a top priority - Even little things can cause accidents.  Be careful of your surroundings when working with children, the elderly, and the disabled.  Also when lifting and performing your duties and tasks.

Respect diversity - Everyone is different.  That is one way that makes the world go round.  Learn to appreciate different cultures and things.
