The JSCC Advising Center strives to provide quality advising to our new students during the open periods for the fall, spring, and summer semesters/sessions. It is available 26 weeks during the year. The rest of the time students can use the Advising Center to drop or withdraw from classes.

We are staffed by trained Faculty and Staff that have volunteered their services in order for students to receive quality and comprehensive academic advising to assist them with their educational goals.

Once a student has declared a major and has used the services of the Advising Center, the student will then be assigned a permanent advisor during their remaining semesters. The student advisor will be listed in each student's jWEB account under "Self Service" once they have been assigned. Once a student has an assigned advisor the student should see him/her up to two weeks before priority registration begins to select their classes. After students have met with their advisor and discussed their goals and academic planning, they may use jWEB or visit the Advising Center to actually register for their classes and print out their new schedule.
