Annual Enrollment

Annual Enrollment Transfer Period (AETP) starts Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

**This year is different!! AETP will be an OPEN ENROLLMENT for most programs!  There will not be a monthly late applicant fee to enroll in medical coverage!

For this year's AETP the enrollments, changes, and confirmations for benefits offered by the State must all take place using Edison Self Service. To assist employees with this new online process a series of AETP meetings are being held by Human Resources. These meetings will not only explain any changes for 2014, but will also walk you through enrolling using Edison Self Service. Please go to the jWeb Voting Booth to confirm a meeting time from the list provided that fits your scheduled. We have to limit the number of participants in each of the meetings to allow a computer for each person. Sign up will be on a first come first serve basis. These meetings are highly encouraged for ALL benefit eligible employees.

Subject to eligibility, during this time you can:

  • Add, cancel or transfer health insurance option and/or carrier - switch between the Partnership and Standard PPO's subject to eligibility*, select either BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee or Cigna
  • Add, cancel or transfer dental options
  • Add, cancel or transfer vision options
  • Increase optional term or universal life insurance coverage, if eligible
  • Enroll in or decrease optional term life coverage, if eligible
  • Enroll in optional accident coverage

**You will also be able to enroll in flex spending for 2014.  This will be done using a paper form and must be enrolled in each year.  If you were enrolled in flex spending for 2013 you will have to fill out a new form for 2014.

** Members enrolled in the Standard PPO may switch to the Partnership PPO for 2014. If you enrolled in the Partnership PPO for 2013 and you or your spouse did not meet the requirements of the Partnership Promise, you are not eligible to continue in this option during 2014. You will still have coverage; however, you will be automatically switched to the Standard PPO.

**The options you choose during the enrollment period will take effect on January 1, 2014, and remain in effect through December 31, 2014, unless you lose eligibility or have a qualifying event or family status change during the year. If you need more information about reasons to cancel/change coverage contact your agency benefits coordinator.

**Passwords have been reset for each Edison account.  Benefits Administration will start mailing letters to your home with new login information mid-September. Please be on the lookout for these letters and bring them with you to your meeting.

**2014 Decision Guides are being mailed to your home.  You should start receiving these in late September. The online version has already been made available at: http://www.state.tn.us/finance/ins/pdf/2014_aetp_guide_st.pdf

If you DO NOT want to make changes
If you are happy with your current benefit selections, no action is required to remain enrolled in coverage. If you are currently enrolled and choose to stay in the Partnership PPO, you (and your covered spouse) are automatically agreeing to fulfill the 2014 Partnership Promise.

If you DO want to make changes
If you want to make changes in your coverage, you must do so online using employee self-service (ESS) in Edison, the state's business software.  Paper forms for health or dental changes or to enroll in the new optional vision plan will no longer be accepted.
